Explanation of Jacquard Punch Card Types

Jersey Jacquard (Fair Isle): This type of card is used for 2-color single bed work. The holes are punched for the design only. The background color is not punched.

Reverse Jersey Jacquard (Fair Isle): This is the same as jersey jacquard except that the holes for the background are punched.

Two Color Double Jacquard: Two rows are punched for each design row. The order in which each color is punched alternates.

Multi Color Double Jacquard 1: One row is punched for each color.

Multi Color Double Jacquard 2: Two rows are punched for each color.
